Ask About Suicide

Suicide prevention is everybody’s business

You don’t need to be a healthcare professional to know the warning signs and start an open conversation about suicide—ASIST and safeTALK suicide awareness training workshops equip you with the knowledge, skill and confidence to help someone at risk of suicide.

About 4,000 Canadians die by suicide every year. No matter the age of the person or the circumstances surrounding their death, each life lost to suicide painfully and forever alters that person’s family, friends and community. The good news is that suicide can often be prevented.

Need help now?
If you or someone you know is in crisis now, please call 911 or 1-800-SUICIDE (1-800-784-2433)

Suicide is a complicated issue, but the more you understand, the better you may be able to help someone at risk of suicide.

  • More information and resources to aid in the understanding and prevention of suicide.

This campaign is led in western Canada by the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) BC, along with CMHA Alberta, CMHA Saskatchewan, and CMHA Manitoba and Winnipeg.

This campaign is proudly supported by London Drugs
London Drugs is committed to the health, care and overall well-being of the individuals and families who live and work in the communities we serve and is proud to support the Canadian Mental Health Association’s efforts to bring attention to suicide prevention.
