CMHA Kelowna is seeking a Fund Development Coordinator to support our Fund Development efforts on a full time basis, 37.5 hours a week. The CMHA Kelowna Fund Development Coordinator is detail oriented, a strategic thinker, strong collaborator and thinks like an entrepreneur. They are a high performer who will use their passion and drive to help us achieve our organizational fundraising goals and our vision for Mental Health for All.
In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for supporting fund development objectives by working behind the scenes to make sure that our donors and supporters have an excellent experience. From time to time, you will be involved in building relationships with various supporters and community members, and assisting CMHA Kelowna in acquiring, retaining and stewarding donors.

WHAT DOES A FUND DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR DO?
Reporting to the Director of People, Culture & Engagement, the Fund Development Coordinator, in collaboration with the Community Engagement team, supports all activities and Fund Development workflows to achieve the annual CMHA Kelowna fundraising goals.
- You will work in collaboration with the Fund Development & Engagement team to help execute ongoing donor cultivation, engagement and stewardship activities and help achieve fundraising revenue success.
- You understand the importance of acknowledging and recognizing our donors in a timely, thoughtful and meaningful way.
- You identify unique ways to connect donors and the broader community with CMHA Kelowna including our programs, services, special events and awareness activities.
- You work across all aspects of the organization to foster and build internal engagement and identify opportunities for collaboration and cross-pollination.
- You help with communications to the CMHA Kelowna Senior Leadership team in order to provide cultivation and stewardship assistance to individual donors and prospects.
- You track donor relations and stewardship activities in the database.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Own the database – you manage & oversee our donor Customer Relationship Management (Sales Force) and ensure consistent, confidential and accurate tracking of all donor gifts, donor relations, and stewardship activities.
- Help drive fundraising and donor engagement across all methodologies – grants, major gifts, annual donors, CMHA Kelowna events, and community partner events.
- Help develop and implement quarterly reports on Fund Development activities, major accomplishments, and milestones.
- Research and identify applicable granting opportunities, grant deliverables and reporting requirements.
- Identify, cultivate and solicit corporate, community and individual prospects in support of the organization’s fundraising activities.
YOUR STRENGTHS & EXPERIENCE:
- Proven record of success in non-profit fundraising and significant understanding of fundraising principles.
- Demonstrated strong research abilities for prospecting new donors, grants and opportunities.
- Strong experience working within a Customer Relationship Management or donor database. (Salesforce is an asset)
- High level of ability to work proactively and with minimal supervision.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
- Goal driven and internally motivated with the ability to innovate, streamline and problem-solve.
- High level of attention to detail and data integrity.
- An understanding of budgets and financial reporting.
- Strong oral, written, and presentation skills.
- Self-directed, but loves to collaborate in a team
