Thursday, April 5, 2018 – 5:30pm to 8:30pm at École Dr. Knox Middle School
safeTALK is a 3 hour alertness training that prepares anyone, regardless of prior experience or training, to become a suicide-alert helper.
safeTALK teaches participants how to:
• recognize a person with thoughts of suicide
• connect a person at risk of suicide to resources and supports that can further intervene
• use the simple yet effective TALK steps: Tell, Ask, Listen, and KeepSafe
Cost: This course date is being offered for FREE to parents/caregivers in the Central Okanagan thanks to funding from the Child and Youth Mental Health and Substance Use Local Action Team. The standard course fee would usually be $50/person.
