CMHA Kelowna’s Family & Natural Supports (FNS) program provides flexible individualized services to foster and strengthen relationships between youth, their family and natural supports through mentorship, guidance, and skill building.
Both family and natural supports - like teachers and coaches, mentors, and other adults in the community – can play a vital role in supporting youth, bolstering resilience in the face of adversity.
In fact, youth that have strong connections to natural supports have demonstrated significantly lower rates of housing insecurity. As a service, Family & Natural Supports is recognized as an effective preventative approach to addressing youth homelessness, mitigating reliance on emergency services and connecting youth with resources and supports needed to thrive.
