Wellness Grants have changed! We’ve partnered with the YMCA to help serve applicants sooner.
NOTE: Wellness Grants have been temporarily placed on hold until further notice. We will update this status once we are actively accepting applications again. Thank you.
What are Wellness Grants?
Exercise and socialization are great ways to benefit mental health and well-being. The Wellness Grants program provides an opportunity for people with a mental illness and financial need to access annual fitness memberships at 3 facilities for no cost. The facilities are: (1) the YMCA in downtown Kelowna, (2) the Rutland Family YMCA and (3) the H2O Center. Through the Wellness Grants program, CMHA Kelowna works with the YMCA to cover 100% of the membership fee.
Individuals can apply for either a single grant or for a family grant. Eligible applicants can apply for a maximum total of three (3) annual memberships. We are re-setting the clock and as of April 1, 2018 all applicants will be considered 1st time applicants regardless of whether they have received a grant in the past. i.e. individuals who currently hold a membership at the H20 that was paid for by Wellness Grants and want to renew it will still be considered first-time applicants.
